Put down your smartphone and pick up a crayon

Recently, our team has been brainstorming – A LOT! We’re always looking for creative ideas to elevate our work on behalf of our clients to the next level. In looking at all of our notes written across white boards, pads of paper and sometimes even on napkins, we started to think about visual note-taking.

We were first introduced to visual note-taking in a session at the 2010 SXSW Interactive conference in Austin, TX presented by Austin Kleon, Mike RohdeSunni Brown and Dave Gray. Although the session was quite some time ago and these days we’re glued to our iPads and iPhones, there’s still tremendous value in visual note-taking. In fact, according to a recent Wall Street Journal article, companies such as Facebook are encouraging their employees to put down the smartphone and pick up a crayon.

Here are a few examples of the fun and creativity that visual note-taking can bring to your next brainstorming session.
