What IS Facebook and WHY use it?

Facebook is finally telling its own story.

From a marketing standpoint, Facebook does a good job of telling its story, because Facebook and social media are not traditional media. They are not platforms to “sell” your product or service. They are platforms for connection and conversation. And if that brings you closer to a brand, then that’s when social media is working from a marketing perspective.  When you want an immediate sale, stand up and advertise. However, when you want to connect, take a seat and log-in!   What’s your view? Did Facebook do a good job of defining its platform?
