Merlot Marketing CEO Debi Hammond Inducted into Oroville Union High School District Hall of Fame

Merlot is proud to announce that Founder and CEO Debi Hammond was inducted into the Oroville Union High School District (OUHSD) Hall of Fame during the district’s 16th Annual Dinner and Induction Ceremony held October 18 in Oroville, California. The event celebrates exceptional alumni, educators, and community members who have made a lasting impact through their professional accomplishments and dedication to others.

“The Oroville community will always hold a special place in my heart,” said Hammond. “It was such a meaningful night surrounded by family, friends, and mentors who’ve been part of my journey. Sharing the stage with my former Taco Bell manager, someone who believed in me during those early years, made it a full-circle moment I’ll never forget.”

Established in 2009, the OUHSD Hall of Fame honors alumni, employees, and community members who have demonstrated exceptional achievement, meaningful post-graduation impact, and a sustained record of service and character that brings lasting credit to the District. Inductees must have made significant contributions, whether through scholastic, athletic, professional, or community accomplishments, that elevate OUHSD and reflect its values across generations.

A proud graduate of Las Plumas High School, Hammond’s journey began in the heart of Northern California. During her high school years, she balanced academics, athletics, student government, and working nights and weekends at the local Taco Bell – all instilling in her the values of customer service, teamwork, and leadership. She credits those early experiences, and the mentors who guided her, for sparking her drive to achieve and her appreciation for the people who invest in others.

After high school, Hammond received her Bachelor of Science in Advertising with a minor in Marketing from San José State, solidifying her passion for communications and marketing. She went on to hold positions in corporate marketing and public relations before founding Merlot Marketing in 2001. Over the past two decades, she has built the agency into a nationally recognized firm, known for its creativity, collaboration, and commitment to clients and community. Hammond’s leadership has also extended into mentorship and professional development through organizations like the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), where she has served in various leadership roles and continues to champion growth and connection within the industry.

This recognition honors not only Hammond’s professional achievements but also her enduring connection to Oroville—a place that helped shape her values, her work ethic, and her passion for inspiring others to reach their potential.
