Cookie Policy
Last updated: Aug 27, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Merlot Marketing, Inc. (“Merlot Marketing,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on MerlotMarketing.com. It should be read with our Privacy Center and California Privacy Rights notice.
What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are
Cookies are small text files stored by a website or service on your browser or device. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, scripts, software development kits, local storage, and device or browser identifiers. They can help a site work, remember choices, measure activity, display media, prevent misuse, and support advertising or business outreach.
A cookie may be set by Merlot Marketing or by a third-party service. Some remain only during a browser session. Others remain until their stated expiration, until they are replaced, or until you delete them.
How We Use These Technologies
We use or allow technologies in the following categories:
Site Operation, Forms, and Security
WordPress, Divi, our hosting and security services, WPMU DEV services, and Gravity Forms help deliver the site, process form submissions, maintain performance, and protect the website. Google reCAPTCHA helps detect spam and abuse. These services may receive device, browser, network, interaction, and form-related information.
Preferences and Accessibility
Preference technologies may remember choices such as privacy settings or media behavior. The accessiBe accessibility widget may use device storage or similar technologies to provide and remember accessibility-related settings.
Analytics and Measurement
Google tag/Site Kit and WPMU DEV Matomo help us understand traffic, referring pages, page use, interactions, device information, and marketing performance. These tools may use identifiers and collect Internet Protocol address, approximate location, browser information, timestamps, and website activity.
Marketing and Business Visitor Identification
RB2B/Retention.com may collect or receive identifiers, Internet or network activity, referring information, approximate location, professional or business information, and related inferences. It may help associate website activity with a business or professional contact and support measurement, marketing, or outreach.
LiveIntent LiveConnect may collect or receive page-view information, visited and referring URLs, Internet Protocol address, user-agent and device information, timestamps, viewport information, and identifiers to support measurement and people-based marketing.
Depending on how these providers use information and the contracts that govern them, some disclosures may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under California law even when no money changes hands. Where required, you can opt out through Your Privacy Choices or a recognized Global Privacy Control signal.
Embedded Content, Fonts, and External Services
Portfolio pages may display YouTube videos. YouTube may receive information when a video or player loads or when you choose to play it. Google Fonts or other content-delivery services may receive technical information needed to deliver fonts or media.
Our newsletter link opens a Mailchimp signup page, and social or other external links open third-party sites. When you leave our website or interact with third-party content, the third party’s own cookie and privacy practices apply.
Cookie Duration and Current Inventory
The names, providers, purposes, and lifetimes of technologies can change when our website or a provider changes. Our Cookie Preferences tool displays the technologies detected on the website and the available duration information. We review the inventory and update this policy when our use materially changes.
Your Choices
You can use Your Privacy Choices or Cookie Preferences in the website footer to accept, reject, or manage optional categories where required. You can return to that control to change a choice. Technologies needed to provide, protect, or troubleshoot a service you request may still operate.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies. Browser controls vary, and blocking all cookies may cause parts of the website to work differently. Deleting cookies may also remove saved choices, so you may need to make them again.
You can opt out directly from RB2B/Retention.com at https://app.retention.com/optout. A provider-level opt-out is controlled by that provider and may use information or storage needed to remember the choice.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
Where required by law, we treat a recognized Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser or device that sends it.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is not a common industry standard for Do Not Track, our website does not currently respond to that signal. Do Not Track is different from Global Privacy Control.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, providers, technologies, or legal duties change. We will post the updated version here, change the Last updated date, and provide another notice when required.
